A five-day cycling expedition around Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This full circular route blends volcanic deserts, medieval towns, pistachio and orange fields, lava forests and long panoramic climbs toward Etna North. Each stage reveals a different face of Sicily, from fertile countryside to lunar high-altitude terrain above 1,800 meters.
Designed as a multi-stage journey, enjoy the authentic Sicilian hospitality and food, mountain hut atmosphere and lunar landscapes.

Day 1 — Airolo Bike Park
Lift-assisted riding to maximize downhill time. Flow trails, technical lines and optional jumps allow riders to warm up, refine technique and build confidence. A perfect first day focused on progression and riding quality.

Itinerary
Day 1 — Catania (Mister Bianco) → Centuripe
Approx. 39 km | 890 m elevation gain
Arrival and bike fitting at Mister Bianco. After local lunch we rolling inland terrain toward Centuripe with gradual climbing and first volcanic panoramas.
Overnight: Centuripe area hotel
Day 2 — Centuripe → Bronte
Approx. 46 km | 985 m elevation gain
A longer stage through fertile volcanic soil and agricultural landscapes. Passage through Adrano before reaching Bronte, famous for its pistachios, with increasing elevation toward Etna’s western slopes.
Overnight: Bronte Hotel
Day 3 — Bronte → Rifugio Monte Scavo
Approx. 35 km | 1,200 m elevation gain
Entering the true volcanic zone. Lava-stone architecture in Randazzo, forest climbs and transition into high-altitude terrain before the final ascent to the mountain refuge (~1,740 m).
Overnight: Mountain refuge (shared alpine accommodation)
Day 4 — Rifugio Monte Scavo → Milo
Approx. 52 km | 680 m elevation gain
High-altitude riding followed by a scenic descent toward Etna’s eastern slopes. Lava fields, open landscapes and vineyards with sea views approaching Milo.
Overnight: Milo Hotel
Day 5 — Milo → Catania Beach
Approx. 40 km | 297 m elevation gain
Final stage with a steady climb toward Etna North, finishing with the last 15–18 km ascent to Piano Provenzana at around 1,800–2,000 m, surrounded by volcanic landscapes.
After the ride, transfer back to Catania, return the bikes, and enjoy a relaxed final afternoon together before heading home.

Day 1 — Airolo Bike Park

Day 2 — Passo del Sole
The most adventurous and demanding stage. Early start from the hut area near Lago Ritom, climbing into remote alpine terrain toward Passo del Sole. Long technical descents, exposure and raw mountain landscape define the day. A true high-mountain enduro mission.
Day 3 — Nara Bike Area
A final day of long, continuous descents in spectacular alpine scenery. Technical variety, speed and natural flow combine for a powerful conclusion to the experience.

What should I wear for the tour?
We recommend comfortable outdoor clothing suitable for cycling and the weather. Closed shoes are required. In cooler months, bring a light jacket or windproof layer.
Do I need previous biking experience?
Most of our tours are suitable for riders with basic cycling experience. Specific difficulty levels are indicated in each tour description.
What should I bring with me?
Bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and appropriate clothing for the weather. We recommend bringing a small backpack for personal items.
Are helmets included?
Yes. Helmets are provided and are mandatory for all participants.
What happens in case of bad weather?
Tours normally run in light rain. In case of severe weather conditions, we may reschedule or cancel the tour for safety reasons.
Do you provide bikes and equipment?
Yes. The tour includes the bicycle or e-bike and the necessary equipment unless otherwise specified in the tour details.
